Find answers to the most common questions about spaniel care, training, and what to expect when bringing home your new puppy.
Bringing home a new spaniel puppy is an exciting time! Expect lots of energy, curiosity, and love. Your puppy will need time to adjust to their new environment, regular feeding schedules, potty training, and plenty of socialization. We recommend crate training, establishing routines early, and being patient as they learn the rules of their new home.
Yes—a refundable deposit is required to reserve the puppy of your choice. This is standard practice, and helps us know that you’re serious. We spend a lot of time advertising puppies and talking to potential families, and when you reserve a puppy, we turn down other families who may also be interested. The only exception we make to this policy is to transfer your deposit to a future litter if you decide that, for whatever reason, now is just not a good time for you to bring home a puppy.
WWe accept Zelle, Chime, apple pay, for deposits. The remaining balance is due in cash when you pick up your puppy (unless your puppy is being shipped to you). This helps us keep fees to a minimum! Balances must be paid in full before we will release your puppy to go home
We completely understand being extra cautious! We have lots and lots of positive reviews from previous families, updates on previous pups, and other information on our Facebook page.
Generally, we prefer that puppies stay with us until they’re about 8 weeks old. Even though they’re usually weaned well before then, research shows that they’re still learning crucial social and behavioral norms, and their Mother plays a big part in this. If you have a specific reason you’d like to take your pup home earlier (coming from out-of-town, plans already in place, etc), contact us directly and we will work with you to find a time that works for both you and your new puppy.
Many of our adoptive families are local and able to meet us at our home address on pick-up day to take their puppies home. For families who live farther away, we do our best to be flexible and can often arrange to meet halfway when possible. We also work with a trusted and experienced ground transporter who ensures puppies arrive safely and comfortably. If you prefer to fly in to pick up your puppy in person, that is perfectly fine, and we can also help coordinate with a professional flight nanny service if you’d like your puppy flown directly to you.Important Update (as of December 2023): Please schedule all pickups for Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are the only days of the week that our spouses are off work, and we have chosen to set those aside for worship and family time. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!
